Was the euro a project doomed from the start?

i think so, yes it was a project doomed from the start, and the reasons you will get here

1. the euro limits the competetion between the eurozone and the rest of the world, why does it do this?
Because it prevents the member states from lowering (or raising) they're valuta.

2. too unflexible, meaning that the member states cannot lower or raise they're interesest.

3. the econimies are at a too different state, this means that the lowest GDP in the eurozone is too low when compared to the Highest.

4. some of the member states we're to greedy, this includes greece, ireland, italy, spain and portugal, and they didn't save any money for the hard times as they should have.
