Is the gold really such a safe investment harbour?

i would say, no.
and here is the reasons, Because what goes up most go down, from time to time.

1. gold isn't a safe investment harbour because its like a bubble, the only reason why the investors are in gold at the moment is because, they're scared of the stock market,

2. it could actually drop in value tomorrow, and if you want a proof then have a look at this historical graph of gold values above, as you might be able to see it rises when there is economic hardship, and drops when the times are getting better.

3. gold isn't really used that much in the industry, which means the only thing keeping the prices high are, the investors.
